Sex, girls, boys and text.

I have been watching this show to see what they are going to do. Somehow showing this on T.V. makes me uncomfortable, not wanting others to think this is a great idea and follow a leader. However, they have done a pretty good job of giving a true image of how difficult it would be if you were to end up in this situation. So far the main character has chosen to save the life of her baby and we are waiting to see what life changing decision she makes next.

Realistic parts of the show:

Sex before marriage with teenagers

Got pregnant first time having sex with someone she didn't know very well.

Parents life just as messed up.

Not realistic:

Main character's boy friend wants to marry her, even though it's not his baby. (they are 15)

One teen girl is the only one who has made a vow not to have sex and she is perfect!

ER...

Apparently, ER didn't read my blog! I love the two main characters. I am a bit confused though. Last week when I was watching, apparently Elliot is back with his wife, and she is pregnant. I can't remember how thy got back together. Not sure if I missed something or if this is another one of those story lines than the writers decided they were headed in the wrong direction and changed it over the summer.
I will be watching tonight to see where this is headed, one thing I love is that the story lines are not based on the characters but about the story it self, so if I miss ane episode, no big deal.

So of the despised daytime tv, I hate all daytime soap operas. They have the dumbest story lines and people watch them everyday. I used to watch Days of our lives, my step mom was an advid watcher. Today when my daughters show went off, Days was on for a few minutes before I came in to change the channel. I was shocked that they still seem to have the same characters and story lines from 15 years ago. Come one people how many times can you watch poeple come back to life, die and then come back as Satan?

Jon & Kate plus 8

This summer during the boring months of television I came across this new show on Discovery Health called Jon & Kate plus 8! This family is truly funny. In the days of trashy reality t.v., I actually enjoy watching them.
The kids are adorable and a handful. The family struggled with infertility and went for treatment, they ended up with twins and went back 2 years later for 1 more and ended up with 6! Maybe that's why and would prefer to adopt! This is a comical show and you watch a large family function with everyday task from potty training to colds. Throw in an OCD wife and a husband that is slower than molasses, and you get a the common everyday house hold. I think that the wife is a little rude to her husband at times, and I know my counselor would never let me get away with talking to my husband that way. But if I had eight kids, I think I would be the same way. We have this on DVR and just watched 4 shows in a row getting ready for the season premier tomorrow night at 10. If you get tired of watching other realty t.v. you may want to check it out, and if your a blogger it's what we read every day on the mommy blogs on live tv!

Since this is a T.V. Blog....

I am trying to decide how we ever lived with out DVR or Tivo. Oh, I know people used those old big box things, that recorded something on a tape that was the size of a book. They must look at us now and be so jealous that our life is so much easier than theirs. We can record a few shows at a time, we can pause the T.V. when your 3 year old gets up for the hundredth time, you can choose to go to bed earlier and watch your 10pm show in the morning, life it a heck of a lot easier! However, why is it that now that I don't have to miss anything on T.V., I actually don't like half of what I see!

I will admit that I used to be a Bachelor fan, I watched it from the beginning. I watched Trista and Ryan fall in love, get married and just last week I purchase the In Touch magazine that showed the pictures of their new baby. I do know that if they do make it, they will be the only one. Once you sit back and think about the concept of the show, would anyone ever do that? If I was dating a guy that was dating 10 other women, he would be called a pimp! If I made out with a guy and had an over night date in a few short weeks I would be called a slut. Why is this acceptable? Why do we want him to choose some one, give her a rose and ask her to marry him...when we all know that the divorce rate is 50%? I think a better show would be a follow up show to document the arguments that the "couple" has when they are watching the show along with the rest of America!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://thetelevisioncritic.blogspot.com/2007/09/since-this-is-tv-blog.html' title='Since this is a T.V. They really are out of story lines. Where is Noah Wyle when you need him? Where is Kovac? I was really looking forward to at least one character on the show to have a some what normal life.

Because I am a fan, and I am waiting for Noah Wyle to come back, I will be watching next week. I am curios to see what happens to Neela. I am also curios as to what message the writers were trying to send about the war with this story line.

The Character "Gates" it interesting to me, I have not yet grown to like him. It's a good thing he is played by John Stamos, lets face it any girl born in the 80's still loves Uncle Jesse!

Morris is an odd character, I do like his relationship with the religious fanatic, because you know every well rounded show has to have a fanatic. Apparently, she is against abortion but ok with sex before marriage. So, I hope she has her birth plan and OB chosen. I am not sure where she was in this premiere episode. Maybe she is not a beginner player and they bring her out after we all stop watching around the holidays. You know when we have to deal with our families and very own religious fanatics.

I have drafted up a couple of episode ideas for the writers.

Go back to Africa, invite Angelina to do a guest star role.

Drop a air craft on the new Attending. (wait you've done that before)

Let the entire season wrap up the last 12 years, bring back all the old characters, try to use your next few months of work to sum up all the past story lines instead of doing what you writers usually do in the 2 hour series finally.

Don't worry we will all keep watching, there is only a handful of us left anyway, we were loyal. Do it for us!

Now I am going to stop rambling, it has most likely taken you longer to read this than actually watching the show after you fast forded through the commercials and really boring parts!

We were not sure we would see this day, but they are back. I do love this show even though I don't agree with most of the story lines, plots, or character choices. Do I sound like a fan yet?
Seattle Grace is back, minus a few people.

I am sorry to see Dr.Burk leave, however the writing of last season isn't really going to make me miss him. I hate the way Christina is acting. As if it does not hurt to be left at the alter. She did love him, even though she loves her self more, are they really going to let her character act as if she is not in pain until she goes crazy and kills some one, brings them back to life and they still end up dying?

I am glad Addison is off to a new life, mostly because I really like Private Practice. I know most people were rooting for Meredith and McDreamy, but I wanted to see their marriage work. You can't forget 11 years of marriage. They were both to blame for their problems and neither worked hard enough to fix it.

I like Callie and George together, She has tried to support him so much more than anyone else. She has issues, but I guess George enjoys being the giver in a relationship and never receiving.
Izzie really is crazy and the while save the deer thing last night didn't make me like her anymore. I loved the way she loved Denny, but why are they having her try and break up George's marriage.

That brings me to Meredith and Derrick....Did they really break up, get back together, end for good Derrick's Marriage, and decide to separate and be "friends with benefits"????? This is just plain stupid...and I am allowed to use that word here!

Season Premiere Week!

Here is a list of shows we will be discussing here on this blog, feel free to make some suggestions.
But for now this is what we have:

ER
Greys Anatomy
Private Practice ( New )
Notice a theme? Should I have been a Doctor?

The Office...a new fan of, it was funny last night, even though I hate the camera style.
24 ( in January) Depending on what Happens to Keifer Sutherland, I wonder how fun it was to arrest Jack Bower in real life? Do think they were scared?

I know the list looks shirt, don't worry there are lots of new shows coming out. Most of which I am not interested in, but I am sure my husband will want to watch them and I can give you a review. You would never guess how many hours we spend watching Deadliest Catch!
